I'm so busy living that I don't have much time to add to this website. The western
paintings were inspired by the Cowboy Poetry event at the Tum Tum Community
Center in April.

The model of this is a vintage poster of a cowgirl. I added my own Pine Country theme to her background. I think she's tough but absolutely feminine!
"Autumn on the Little Spokane River"
I live near both the Little Spokane River and the Spokane River. They meet and form Lake Spokane (also known as Long Lake.) All three bodies of water are within five minutes drive of our home. The river willows put on shows all year round. I took a photo of this last fall to use as reference. 5' X 7"

"Amber Waves of Grain"
I was going to call this "Looks Like Rain." We've had a lot of wind and rain this spring. I was showing the grandchildren the way you can see rain coming. They'd never noticed that before. It was fun to explain something they didn't know. May, 2010
This one has yet to be named. Acrylic on bristol board, 5" X 7". May5, 2010

Bottle gourd, cleaned and shaped, drilled and beaded. My camera has added a bit of orange to the gourd which is actually a melon red on the bottom, working upward in a lighter tint and turning green at the top. The interior is several coats of green glaze. About 18 inches tall, 10 inches wide.

Bookmarks appear much more dull than they do in natural light. Little glistens are
here and there.

Two mixed media ATCs that I like combined ink, paint, glitter pens, rubber stamps, glitter, images.

Machine quilted, hand painted muslin, hand beaded hemline. Many of the paints are Lumiare so this has a lovely lustre to it.
The pin has a bit of glimmer that does not show up with photography. Here is one as a sneak preview.
Although I love painting in oils, I find myself using more and more acrylic paint. As it is easy to breath and even easier to clean up, acrylics fit my lifestyle very well. That's not to say I won't go back to oil paint some day. Never say never.
" Geisha Serving Tea", 8" X 10" preframed, stretched canvas, December 2008, for my
dear friend Lisa Buchanan. Part of the kimono is painted with metallic gold, as were
the brim of the cup and blate. I hope I captured the Oriental essence.
